In that 92 if you have manual loking hubs once you welded just unlook one when you want to make a tight turn 
Thats what I would always do. Just lock one till I got stuck and then lock the other. Or if I knew it was going to be a good run I'd just lock both. But then again thats for mud. It doesn't really let you turn not matter what you've got.
