Come live in the country for 27 years and see how far the city type protect all the animals attitude go's. 
There are few animals that serve a purpose around here. Cows, horses, sheep etc. basically all forms of livestock have a purpose so they are good to have around. The starlings, sage rats, rockchucks, seagulls etc. dont. They are all pest's and they will all die if they happen upon my little 5 acre plot of dirt out in the country.
all well and good WT, but until I get there, and experience life from yer end of the telescope, I'm looking at it from my end. And I like every bit of what little bit of nature we get to see on this end and I cant imagine being out there and thinking any differently but until I get there I do't know but on the other hand (NOT PC STOP READING NOW) ......
