So my front HP E-locker stoped working on me. At first i thought that if must of just gotten jammed in the open position, not a big deal. SoI pulled the motor to lock my diff and remove my third try to figure out what happened. with the motor removed I tried to jumper it and it still didnt work so I figured that it must be someting internal in the motor. I pulled the back case off a WATER poored out . The inside was all rusted and corroded. I dont even see how water could get in in the first placeit is a 2 peice housing that has an O-ring seal and the Feild magnets have an O-ring seal also. The only place i can see water getting in is throught the breather tube but that has a plug in it and it is in there pretty good. At this point I dont know what to do I cant imagine how much a new shift motor would cost. or that rebuilding this one would be worth it. so I am thing about doing the cable mod. But I just dont know what to do the whole thing just really pisses me off.
I had the e-locker in the rear of my truck
I ran into the same problem. once water was in and it corroded my motor acted like it was shorted when i tried to power it directly. Mine wasn't even as bad as yours
By the way a new actuator is like $500 Thats my cost at my dealership
Needless to say tried cable and still wasn't happy
Sold it and bought a detroit
