I finished the exhaust, but because it’s all pipe it’s loud as puck. I plan to take the whole truck down and add what ever it takes to make it sound quieter.

This past Monday as I was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, the engine roared to 5k rpm. I thought I broke my rear shaft, but when I parked the truck to the side of the road and jumped out, all was intact. I put the truck in 4HI and drive into a parking lot. I then put it back in 2wd and drive forward, I then head a clunking noise. I was going to drive the truck home in 4HI and remove the rear shaft, but my friend advised me to get it towed. I prep the truck on stands and remove the tires. Tuesday I removed the axles and rear 3rd, to my surprise it was something totally different than what I thought was the problem. Keeping in mind my rear third broke 3 times since I’ve been back home wheeling and driving. #1: broke 3 teeth on the ring gear. #2/3: ring gear bolts came loose during the break in. #4: pinion gear gone from shifting 1st to 2nd.

#4: Blue pen marks made if ring gear came loose.
None of the ring gear bolts came loose.
