    • My 1966 FJ40 Build Up
Some of the body work had cracked allowing water beneath the paint... Which caused rust. Which I ignored for a couple of seasons.

I signed Holly's 83 pickup and my 4Runner up for the Toyotafest in Long Beach, so I finally decided to tackle the nastiness.https://www.instagram.com/p/CywHyw2vcQn/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

I ended up cutting out my fender flare after I saw what a hack job it was.  I just didn't know any better at the time I first flared them.  I welded a straight edge to the panel to get it back into shape, since my first attempt at flares warped it to the point it needed way too much filler.

Then I shaped new steel to replace the old flare.  I have a lot to learn still, but it's leaps and bounds better than what I had done the first time around.

The new flare required significantly less filler.  I just picked it up from paint today.  Now to clean it up in time for Marlin's service next weekend.

Oh... I also had thrown some 40s on it, but after flexing today, I'm going back to 37s. Too much interference
