Very sadly we had to put Teddy Bear, our almost 15-year-old Yorkie, to sleep on March 2.

He had a very bad seizure, and we would not let him experience that again.

Teddy was very smart, demanding, and a typical male Yorkie.  We spoiled him since we adopted him at 9-1/2 weeks.

We will not get another pet. At our age, a dog may outlive us, and I would not want to place the burden on someone else to deal with our pet’s life.

I have studied dogs intensely and have learned so much about every aspect of the canine’s intelligence, emotions, cognitive abilities, health, healthcare, and diet over the past 14 years and 11 months.

Our house is quiet, and it has been a very emotional 11 days.

If anyone is interested in reading about how dogs think and relate to humans, two excellent, and very fascinating insights into dogs: The Genius of Dogs by Dr. Brian Hare and Venessa Woods and

Your Dog is Your Mirror - by Kevin Behan.
