R&R'ed the driveline in about 6 hours last night (a good chunk of time was drilling out seized allen bolts in the crossmember), hopped in to take a test drive, pushed the clutch in and BANG it shot the shift fork out of place and ejected the slave cylinder piston. Must not have had the fork seated correctly on the pivot ball
On my lunch break today I jammed on it and got the trans back out in 58 minutes flat - it's a little easier when it just needs to be slid back and down 6 inches. Having a lift also helps a lot.
Got it back in this evening, all is well in the world now.
