topkicktech...and anyone else that's had this issue.  It's NOT a dipstick issue.  I'm no tech master by any means.  I'm more of a mechanically inclined body man. I've had this trouble for some time, stumping many.  After the process of elimination, it came down to a simple gasket!!!  Everything was either new or restored when I put in a new engine.  The gasket between the plenum and the throttle body is missing a vacuum hole on the drivers side of the throttle body.  CRAZY SIMPLE FIX for what drove me (and many, many more) absolutely crazy!!!! I removed carefully removed gasket, punched a hole in it, reinstalled it, checked for leaks while checking issue...PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!  See you on the trails!!! "Sherman Tank"
