Holy crap!! 500 on a bench is heavy duty!
I worked out at a gym for many years. I broke my back in 1980, compression fractured 3 vertebras, the T-6 (right between my scapulas) was really bad, so I had to minimize certain routines.
In my early days, one of my workout buddies had Razorback DNA, he'd been body building for about 15 years. I watched him bench 440 and leg press 1200. He was an animal.
Muscle is heavy... about 15 - 20% more than fat.
I still have the workout card from the Power House Gym that was created for me by my trainer. It is the VERY best whole body workout routine I ever did for my body in the 25 years I did weight lifting.
Please be careful. I have friends that were training for the Olympics that were injured pressing too much weight too soon and ruined their athletic future.
I occasionally had muscle pulls that sidelined me for weeks!! I think my body was addicted to lactic acid!!
By the way... physically I peaked at age 42.
Good luck with 500!!
Gnarls.
Ive got a buddy that's 43 and puts up 500 twice.
another buddy whos 36 putting up 450
I pulled a muscle in my back Monday warming up, took it super easy this week, rested curls and punching the bag
I have a well set up gym in my shop and Im there 730-3 so I get quite a good workout, its one of my business's, all I do is write stuff up here and there but need to be there 730-3 my short time goal is 135 120 times, just watched a 50 Y/O do it 111 times
