Stock axles will fit just fine. For hardcore use, a stock axle shaft from a 2nd gen 4Runner can be used on the actuator side of the diff. 2nd gen 4Runner axle shafts are somewhere around 7 mm longer. This results in more axle spline engagement and reduces chance of the elocker side gear breaking. The bearing kit you need is the bearing kit for an elocker. A V6 setup kit will work also, all the bearings are the same except the big one on the actuator side which you could source from Toyota if you already have a V6 setup kit. What do you mean do the carrier bearings change? You need bearings for the elocker. One side is the same as the V6 carrier bearing, the other side is specific to the elocker. For the one backlash adjuster lock bolt, I used a tapered allen bolt and countersunk the lock plate. No axle housing modification needed. See the pictures. Go with the Ninja Gears, you'll be very happy. I have two sets and would buy again next time I need gears.
