Re: Bearing Race Height on Knuckle

The bearings and races in the marlin crawler axle rebuild kits are a different taper than factory.  The factory bearings are much tapered, which means they support top load.  However as toyotas are not very heavy and do not supply a lot of top load, but our tires hitting rocks cause lots of side load, Marlin Crawler gets bearings and races that have a steeper taper to support more side load.  The end result is a slightly taller bearing as well, but not so tall that it would make a difference for operation or install. The knuckle should still slide right over them.
