Mission accomplished! I pushed the cap/spring assembly down as far as it would go, wedged a flathead screwdriver in to turn it as I tapped lightly with a hammer around it and it popped into position. Just a little tip for the rubber piece at the top of the cup I used a grommet from a glad hand off a tractor trailer, fits perfectly. Thanks for the help.
