Any recommendations on how to identify a "known good used box", seems like that would be just as problematic as buying a new or remanufactured unit.

The first box that failed was actually a used unit that worked fine for me for well over a year, but I never did any heavy wheeling with it. I discounted this because it was a used junkyard unit of unknown origin.
