I took it for a drive. While leaving my neighborhood, I noticed the temp gauge shoot way up then go down to 180 or so.. shoot up again then back to 180 where it stayed for a few minutes. It slowly got warmer and seemed to stay around 200 for a while. then with stop traffic and slow driving it went to 230. all within about 45 minutes.
Also I looked and my friend who convinced me to get rid of the "crappy clutch fan and shroud.." convinced me to buy a 12" UNIVERSAL SLIM FAN PUSH PULL ELECTRIC RADIATOR COOLING 12V 1730 CFM no shroud on the fan.
