what engine?  22re I assume?  I usually fill up right around 16gallons, and I get roughly 270 per tank.  I split pretty evenly highway and surface street, when I drive mostly surface its about 240-250, and all highway, I get about 280.  this is in a 3.0 5spd, 37"s, 5.29s, old spark plugs and wires.  I just changed my fuel filter, and I already have felt a power surge, so we'll see if it improves my economy or not.  Waffler has the same engine in a 4runner, with an auto, and he gets about 220-230, doing the same type of driving. 

On a side note, I have noticed I have gotten a little better economy, when I go on camping trips, and wheelin for a few days.  Ive turned up as high as 328 :dunno:  driving a lot in 4hi, some low, with hubs locked
