I like to trim the stock backing plates, leaving the tab that holds the brake line. I've never had an issue running multiple trucks that way for years.
Those RCV's sure look good. I bought my current Longfields about 9 months before the whole TG thing went down, but Ive been tempted to buy some RCV's just for the nice '' C' ya mister '' tribute to Bobby 
Yeah they are pretty damn cool. I've already paid for these eliminators so I'm going to give them a shot.
