I have the same loud ticking in my 22re, but think its because of my unevenly worn cam..
I need to get a clip of the motor running so everyone can hear it. It is definitly not normal. The motor looks fresh to me though. All the rocker arms looked shiney and newer to me. Has metal timing chain guide too.
