Have you run the longer ome springs? Any issues with the axle moving back? I have 09s installed on my 84 and just like you describe, too stiff and no flex unless i have Alot of weight in the bed.
I have not run the 51" longer ones... I'm going to use F150 for the rears and use the 009s for a RUF. But I'm pretty sure you can run the longer OME on your truck, the axle moves back by 3/8" if I'm not mistaken. I'd double check the 3rd gen rear spring measurements.
