So I know I should put this in the engine tech portion of the forum but I located a guy who has a 1985 22r (said it was a base model truck, therefore it has the carb). I'd like to make it a 22re. I assume that all I'd need would be the EFI intake from one, the higher output fuel pump and tank, and the wiring harness?

I think you may find that the EFI swap is a challenge. Any reason to not just wait to find one that is EFI already?  Do you care about he independent front suspension vs. solid axle?  I wheeled/drove a non-EFI 85 truck and had minimal issues even at high altitude and odd angles.
