Bringing this topic back to the top. I've experienced this twice in the past few months. I just installed my MC07 and my truck is sitting in the driveway with the rear case, low range rail hung up in HI. I tried like hell to get it to shift. Why is this occurring? I recently bought a truck for  parts and it acted the same way... I didn't care a whole bunch about the truck so I stuck a pry bar in the T Case and forced it back. After it went it was loose and shifted freely. That truck was an 87. My truck and the rear case currently stuck is an 85. Anyone know why this happens and an easy way to free up the bind??
