i dont believe the carbed fuel pick up will bolt to the EFI tank.
So just keep the EFI fuel pump bracket/assembly/pick up bolted to the EFI tank. The EFI tank will have a threaded fitting and flared connection above the tank for the high pressure line, but you could just cut the flare off, slide the fitting off, and then slip a hose over the line as if it was a carb. tank (maybe give it a ridge or flare it so the hose can't get tugged off). I was going to wait to reply until I first looked inside a carb tank, but with the fuel pump removed, you'd simply need to attach a longer rubber hose internally to extend down to where the fuel pump's original pick up level was at and I'd assume it would suck liquid all the same. Using a filter similar to the filter at the bottom of an EFI pump would be a good idea. I imagine however that a carb pick up internal line has more baffling closer to it? Again, still need to go look at one. I wonder if a simple hose dropped into an EFI tank would still grab fuel as reliable at steep angles...
Theres no reason not to use a carbed tank on a carbed truck.
Older, harder to find, more likely to be rusted out. I do agree why mess around, just use a carb tank with a carb platform
