I had a buddy years ago with a traction bar over the driveshaft.  He could adjust the length of it with a big threaded section.  Depending on how it was adjusted the rear suspension would either jack up or squat down under load.  It was pretty cool.

Still had a little tourque twist off the line with the detroit though...
