I don't think thats what he is saying mike,,,I think hes talking about a spring with an uncenter center pic,,such as most are,,most springs run the longer side to the rear,turn them around for a shorter approch angle or departure angle..say if you have a spring thats 35in from end to centerand 40 inched on the other end from end to center..I would think the effect would be the same however the mount angle would have to be figured out to be sure you pinion  angle is ok..
