So you spend 5k on a newer rig. It has more expensive parts, and was not built anywhere near as tough as Toyota pickups. Give it 5 years later down the road and I will GUARANTEE that you will have put close to 2-3k in maintenance and repairs into your newer vehicle. If you bu a Toyota pickup in fair shape, 5 years later younwillmonly added oil changes and air filters to it.
People know this. That is why they hold value. They are still around because they are so tough. they can also be sold in parts for about 2500 in a matter of days if they are 4x4.
Like I said , buy now, the price is n,y going to go up. I dd a 86 4runner. It gets 21 mpg. Drives real nice. Is super reliable. Insurance is cheap as all hell. And if it does break, it cost like a maximum of 100 bucks to fix anything at all. What newer vehicle can say that?
