This was the first time I've ever ran the trails near Bretz Mill. They reminded me of the trails at Elbe Hills Offroad Park (near Ashford, WA): Multiple short trails connected by fire roads and some paved roads. We'd be driving along and then suddenly slam on the brakes, make a sharp turn off the road and directly onto some killer trail. Then wheel only for about a mile or so before being dumped back onto another fire road to continue traveling at speed to the next offshoot trail.
There were a lot of off camber and crossed-up type long dirt ruts scaling steep climbs and descents. Even without rocks this would be very difficult for open-open rigs. I even had to use my rear locker on a few sections of just plain dirt because it was so steep and loose.
The event was well organized and I'll be back again next year for sure! Keep your 2014 calendar open for the middle of May and cya then!
