on the two taco that we built you can actually tell that the frame bented right between the cab and bed.  maybe that is where its more weaken

That's right where the taco frames change from fully boxed to being c channel. Has nothing to do with plating up front but yes it's very weak there in my opinion and I'll be boxing my frame there.
