Hey all-I had no idea that Marlin even had a forum until someone linked to it from Pirate4x4. I'm a gearhead who recently got back into Yotas after selling my '77 FJ-40 (first vehicle I ever had!) years ago
After that I had a couple of different vehicles but between college, work, buying a house, getting married, etc...I really didn't have time for wrenching on 4x4s or wheeling. About a year ago my uncle passed away so my aunt gave me his '91 Pickup that he had bought new. It's a regular cab 4x4/22RE/5 speed-bare bones, light, and small-the perfect woods rig for hauling firewood and hunting. The thing I love about these trucks is that you can practically take them down quad trails! So far I've just gotten around to giving it a tuneup, ordering a full replacement exhaust, and not much else. Now that the tax return is on its way the plan is for some 285/75/16s, hopefully a set of junkyard 4.88s, and a lunchbox locker for the rear. This is a low budget mild build-not much crawling or hardcore stuff to be done here in NJ-I just need a good solid truck that can get me down some rough roads. I'm sticking with the IFS, but I'll probably beef up the rear springs for hauling purposes. Looking forward to sharing posts about the build with other Yotaheads!
