Hi, I recently bought a Jeep Comanche (2wd) that has a pretty nice 4.7 stroker engine in it. The truck itself is a little on the rough side, so the obvious option is to make a trail rig out of it. I already have a 4wd AX15 and transfer case out of a newer Cherokee waiting to go in. I was wondering what the changes of Toyota 8" axles living under this thing are? It will probably have 35-37 inch tires on it, and I just can't justify the weight and size of fullsize axles at that point. Nor can I see making a Dana 30 live under the front with the power of the stroker. I planned on getting a Taco style housing (or figuring out how to make the AX15 mate to toy transfer cases. My major question at this point is, is this feasable at all? I already have a few Toyota axles sitting around, the front one has been rebuilt, and I have IFS hubs I could put on it. I also have all the parts to put discs on the rear axle (ifs width). Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
