Maybe I'm just loyal to the big name or the fact that I get the lifetime warranty so that when I cut one I can get a new one for free. So I went with BFG on choice, though I have seen Swampers separate and come apart if they are used on road more than any other brand.

Depends on what I'm doing with the truck.

If its a wheeler only then swampers.  If it needs to drive to the trails as well as wheel then bfgs.

Just based on those two choices I'd go swampers as I'm not impressed with bfg sidewalls.

sx and bfg sidewalls are like comparing apples to tank tracks (and yes I have owned SXs) if they made 40" SXs Ida bought another set

I voted for the Swampers. If the BFGs were 37" then I would vote for them.

I picked the BFG's. BFG has a hole crap load of engineers on there team and they make a much higher quality product that like said about holds up better on the road better then most all interco's. Now if this is just a hardcore trail rig i suppose i would say the TSL's but you could always get the BFG's in 37's. either way, it really does depend on what you want to do with the truck.
'99 SR5/TRD Tacoma w/5vzfe. SAS'd with 64" diamond axle (w/ long superset & ARB). about 5" of lift, 305/75 x16 BFG KM1's. Soon to come: 1.5" more lift (6.5"), 35 to 37" tire, undecided at this point., 63" F/F diamond rear, Marlin 4.7 tacobox.

It's a big bias ply tire... you're not supposed to like them on the road.  Don't say the tire sucks because of that.  It's designed for off-road and guess where it performs?

I realize that.

But last couple times i took them wheeling i have had nothing but problems with them.
Especially in the snow.  They didn't have traction for crap, and id have to air them down enough to start getting traction and then they kept popping beads.  Maybe its cause they are worn more than i would like for wheeling, idk i just haven't been impressed with them at all.

I would go with the swampers. bigger tire makes bigger obstacles seem smaller and easier to conquer. but if it yer DD id go with the bfg.

SX's for sure bfg's suck  I like to be able to hit rocks with my side walls without blowing them out.  Theres been so many times on the trail I have had to eather lend my spare or patch a side wall just because someone wanted to save a coin and got some crappy BFG's

my o/l has 37/12.5 ssr =35.5''

That is the radial version, what does the bias ply measure? also what size rims and air pressure are those measurements from?

I run the sx, they where used and the side wall strength is what I went for. They are also easier to find a replacement for when you destroy one.
