Norcaltoy, whats I-5 look like?  The stretch from Ashland to Redding is my biggest concern, I keep looking at tripcheck's camera's, and the roads look clean, but alot of snow to the side of the roads.

I hope its all gone in 3 weeks.  I've already got too much $$$ tied up in our vacation to back out, do to road conditions!

right now, clean, 2 wheel driveable. They keep the freeway really clean most of the time. And in 3 weeks, this storm should be gone. worst case scenario, you gotta have chains on you. :dunno: if its a bad storm or 4x4 with m+S they let you go.

check back in 2 and a half weeks and ill let you know how it is

Sweet!   I'm just paranoid on the hwy when the family is with me.  Generally, if the road is bad, I don't go anywhere, but since we've been planning this trip for over 2 years, I'm a little worried about the road conditions.

Getting it at the higher elevations.  And just a skiff of it at sea level.  Its the ice I hate.  Had lowered my tire down to 14 psi, and I was still all over the road going to work.

BIL sent me pics of him chaining up the F350 Powerstroke with over 1,200#'s of fuel/grease/tools/oil/cables and such, trying to get to the landing at 2000 feet elevation this week.  He says just ride the ditch, and know where the culverts are!!   :shocking:
