tacobox
« on: Oct 07, 2008, 04:53:25 PM »
I have a 99 auto 3.4 4runner that is going from 2wd to 4wd/SAS, passenger side drop. I was looking at the tacobox and wondered if someone wanted to, could they instead of putting a Hilux box between the trans and chain driven t-case, use the adapter and put two hilux boxes behind the trans. My trans does not have a t-case as is and I realize that I will have to deal with the tail housing and output shaft. I have also thought about getting a 4wd trans but I don't know if I will need a new ecm.

Thanks

Yes, with our 3.4/2.7 plate you can run 2 gear driven cases behind a 3.4 auto 4wd trans  :burnout:  The first T-case has to be 23 spline.    :turtle:

I would go with the 4x4 trans swap...the adapter is $699...

You can get a good 4x trans swapped for that....I would ask the salvage yards for "core" credit, for Your old 2wd trans.
