Fresno area TLCA club.
« on: Feb 12, 2006, 06:19:56 PM »
After discussions with Marlin this weekend, and others over the past year or so.  We believe that the Fresno area can support a TLCA Chapter.  This will not be a resurrection of any previous chapters in the area, so if there are any hard feelings, please leave them at home.

We are looking for people who:

1. Love Toyotas
2. Love to 4Wheel
3. Are willing to be involved in the local, state and national wheeling scene
4. Are able to attend meetings regularly
5. Are ready to participate in club functions and include all members at these functions
6. Are not cliquish
7. Are willing to belong to TLCA and CA4WDC Inc.

If this sounds like you then this might be the club for you.

Post up and let me know what you think.  Please PM with your Phone # if you'd like a call in a month or so to let you know when the first meeting is.

so what the deal with this, need any help? Been looking for a nice landcruiser club but TLCA is near the coast. My cruiser is running, though not how i want and i have never been involved with clubs in the fresno area. The clubs i have been involved with were when i lived with my parents in the bay and they didn't do much promoting of the sport, cleaning up of trails or trailblazing. I want to be part of a community who wheels and supports their local trails, so i really want to see this go.

And get your project going as well, hack it together so i dont feel so bad about mine

I think we'll have something going in the next few months.  We're still working out some details.

A TLCA Chapter club in Fresno... Awesome!  Way over due.

TLCA Madera, which changed to Toys 4 Fun has faded away with time.  No big deal there, the members just went about their life and the chapter simply slipped away. There will be no hard feelings there.

Ross Woody is the TLCA IR rep for the West and can help... plus you have my full support for whatever that is worth.

To that end, I encourage all potential members to join TLCA during Rubithon, June 21 to 25th.  I am actually visiting the board to ensure Marlin is set to run sweep for Rubithon on Friday again.

Fresno is way over due, lets make it happen.  All it takes is a couple key folks to volunteer to make it happen.

thanks!

After much consideration and discussion with Marlin, BigMike and some others I think the Valley TLCA chapter needs to be put on the back burner.  Off the top of my head I can think of at least 10 clubs who operate within an hour of Fresno and 90% are more than 15 years old.  Many of them take on worth while projects and events that promote our sport and hobby and they are in need of help to continue their fight against the "Anti" crowd.  With that said I wasn't to encourage anyone in the Fresno area to look up a club and get involved.  Here is a list that belong to CA4WDC Inc.  http://cal4wheel.com/clubs/central.html.  Look for a local club section on this board in the near future.  Thanks.

I wish I was a little closer to you guys overthere I would like to get involved with this. Is there a chapter over here near Salinas? Or could I be a distant member? Thanks Mick.
