Memorial Day not Veterens Day
« on: May 25, 2019, 09:09:44 AM »
I just got my Memorial Day email from Marlin Crawler.  They urge you to be "Happy"..  I wish folks could think for just one second about the title of this holiday before urging folks to be happy.  Then I read the small print how they show respect to those in the military???  Memorial day is a day of mourning for those who lost their lives making sure Marlin Crawler can sell their product.  It is not about celebrating current or former living military members or again a day to be happy.

For marketing or advertising, the adjective "happy" is not a good choice for this holiday.

I don't think that "mourning" is a good choice either.

Honoring by remembering seems a tad more acceptable, and the celebration a military person's past heroism before giving their life as a patriot.

Gnarls.

I will mourn the family I have lost.  It is a perfect choice.

Tell the rest of the families who have lost loved ones the same thing.  See how that goes for you.

Fact of the matter is too many are quick to diminish the whole purpose of what this special day is about.

How sad,  This is Someone from Marlin Crawler(Mike?) reply to me bringing up their mistake in what Memorial day is about.  This is completely making fun of everyone who has ever lost family members defending our country.  How sad.   :shake:

No one said dont have a good day,  but when you make a banner saying how you support our veterans and telling all to be happy it shows complete ignorance. So again the answer by this person who represents marlin crawler is to make fun of people who have lost family and choose to respect their lost loved ones.

Was wondering if it was a alias.  Whoever it is it appears important enough to do their advertising.
