jimbo74's F-150
« on: Jan 12, 2019, 10:39:30 AM »
Finally getting around to posting this here. this will be me F-150 build thread. I got it last April. Due to having some issues, it hasn't been running in several months. Doing some repairs to it now. I will be asking questions on here and things liek that. This site has a lot more traffic than the F-150 forum I belong to.

Questions? lmk, I will answer them

2001 Ford F-150 Supercab, 4x4, XLT, 5.4L 2V Triton V8, 175k miles, automatic 4R70W. Has a lift and no muffler. 315/75/16s on it. Has a subwoofer with a Pioneer deck, however, I don't like it. It does have the factory cd changer in the center console if that matters? I do have a mismatched wheel, it is the chrome stocker, looks like someone messed one of them up, and didn't replace it. Looking for a matching wheel if anyone has one. It is a Weld Mountain Crusher wheel. I think the rear end needs to come up higher, but it has like 2 blocks? so I don't like that, one block has a bumpstop thing on it, and the other is just a block. I want to do all spring. Has 4.56 gears with a rear OE limited slip and a SCT X4 programmer set for the gearing/tires and set on a 91 performance tune.

Currently working on a coolant leak. Still don't know the source, but am doing some modifications that should eliminate it.  :crossed:

About to order a couple of things to replace the crappy Spectre chrome diff cover I have (I may need to paint the new cover? maybe clear to prevent rust?):

Truck is currently down. It may never run again. At least one of the cylinders has holes in the piston.

That coolant leak it had in the first post, was the intake or the coolant line under the intake. Never figured it out. Put in a metal intake from a 99 expedition though. No more leaks. And a firebird soft hose to bypass the stock hardline for the water pump outlet.

Since then, has had a heater go out too. I changed it. Had the heater core go out again! The girl I was dating changed it for my birthday. So it works now

Have 4 matching wheels now. OE 16"x7 alloys. Pictured above. Ironman MT tires, 315/75/16

Truck should have OE 17s though. Oh well.
