Brake lights stay on...?
« on: Jun 20, 2003, 09:30:13 AM »
I just spliced into The wires that go to my tail lights so i could start running stock brake lights in the bed again (had trailer lights in a bumper before...All the wires at hooked up right but the lights stay on no matter what, even if the key is out..Did i miss a ground or something? Where would i have missed one? I checked the brake switch behind the pedel and the switch is good...HELP ME!!! I want to leave for the rubicon tommorow and have no lights....

well sounds like you got hooked up to batt. power. is running a wire str8 from the back of the switch an option? if so would be the fastest and ezest(is ezest a word:dunno:?)

They stay on?!?!? First thing is try disconnecting the brake light switch. If that doesn't turn them off then you need to retrace your steps, maybe you picked up the wrong wire for the B/L. I don't see how a bad ground could be the problem since no other lights are involved.
