Loud square drive shaft
« on: Oct 02, 2017, 06:56:56 PM »
I have a 1983 Toyota short bed 4x4 that I just put a doubler in and made a square drive shaft for the front, noticed that it is loud and rattles around. How do I make it quieter?

I ran a couple of weld beads down mine and ground them down even, and it tighten up.

What I did was cut 1/2" off the bigger of the two, then turned it just a little, to tighten up slop. Then welded back on

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but has anyone wrapped the inner shaft in duct tape?
