Taco-Supreme Updates
« on: Nov 10, 2016, 09:27:41 PM »
The quick back story is... I sold my 01 Taco 2 years ago in January, I pulled most of my "good stuff" off of it before I did (Including my crawler) and installed it onto its replacement, an 2000 4Runner. The Crawler has been sitting under my work bench since then as the family and I did a lot of Expo type stuff.

I got the crawler back in 2007 second hand from a good friend of mine, he only had it a little while. The rear adapter is serial number 0005. When I pulled it out, it had a total of right around 90K miles on it. Lately I've been itching to get back in the rocks though an can't imagine doing it without the ol crawler.

My Question..  I've read they changed a few things throughout the years. One thing I read on RockSolidToys was they changed the design so that you didn't have to remove the bearing from the tailshaft of the transmission. Can I purchase the updated coupler for this? Is there anything else I should look at updating from the older design? And Finally, with 90K miles, should I go ahead and do a rebuild on it with new bearings and seals. It had Full Synthetic in it, its entire life.

Thanks!
