Got the steering box housing all cleaned up.
I can't go to low or the drag link will hit the oil pan when the suspension compresses.
I vote we make a new pan and pick up.."
The shaft feeding the box, coming from steering wheel. How does that seal go in? Could I simply take a pick and remove it? Does the whole nut have to come off the box in order to replace that?
So on the way home from work yesterday my FJ-80 dual diaphragm brake booster catastrophically failed. I found myself throwing all of my body weight into my brake pedal for a normal stop. I'll be picking one up at the salvage yard this weekend. I tested it with my mighty-vac and it wouldn't hold any vacuum for even a second.
Yikes dude! You can't get a break can you?
You meant to say, " Yikes dude! You can't get a brake can you?"
I just bought one from oreillys. I was pulling my boat when mine went out. No fun at all...
Yikes! That's the worst time to have a booster fail!Drove an hour and a half down to B&R auto wrecking today in Napavine. Even though their database said they didn't have one, I was able to find one out of an FJ-80. $50 for the booster and a throttle cable.
There a reason you went there? I would think there would be a yard closer than that?
Nobody else had one listed on car-part.com
Thought that above you said that the database stated that they didn't have one?
