So hopefully my bearing arrives today.  In the mean time I started installing my PLX that I traded Zippo for some shocks.

The two white dots are my center punch marks for the hydro assist ports.

Aced it! Got the port dead center on the vain.

Just an idea. Take it to -6 an with caps now. So down the road you don't have to do anything but take the cap off.
If you see it, its for sale.

Next step is to redo my motor mounts so that it sits about a 1/2" lower. It is rubbing on the underside of the hood right now, making a lot of racket.

I can't go to low or the drag link will hit the oil pan when the suspension compresses.

The shaft feeding the box, coming from steering wheel. How does that seal go in? Could I simply take a pick and remove it? Does the whole nut have to come off the box in order to replace that?

It is pressed in, from the inside of the top housing. You can see me pressing it in here.

You would have to take that housing off to replace that seal.  :sad2:

So on the way home from work yesterday my FJ-80 dual diaphragm brake booster catastrophically failed. I found myself throwing all of my body weight into my brake pedal for a normal stop. I'll be picking one up at the salvage yard this weekend. I tested it with my mighty-vac and it wouldn't hold any vacuum for even a second.

Yikes! That's the worst time to have a booster fail!

Drove an hour and a half down to B&R auto wrecking today in Napavine. Even though their database said they didn't have one, I was able to find one out of an FJ-80. $50 for the booster and a throttle cable.
