Thats why I'm switching to link suspension. The first time I powered her up and hit the throttle the massive torque of my brushless motor twisted the rear axle and snapped that rear leaf spring  :yikes:

I got the axial ax10 whrn they came out in like 07-08 it now sets in my mom's attic. Expensive hobby them little tiny versions of real ones. Is yours a tamiya or rc4wd looks like rc4wd.

Got the head off. Looks like there was some pitting on the head in number 3 cylinder. I have heard that happens when water particles are compressed.

Pardon my ignorance of the 1kz, but looking at the injection pump it appears to be a mechanical pump. Is it as simple a fuel shut off solenoid and it runs? I know a 1kz-t is manual, where a 1kz-te is electronic which is the one you have?

Its the electronic pump and is run by ecu. If you can find a kzt your doing well

It sounds like Bloc from the thread on mud got his running good with a little timing fiddling.

I would think a 24v would be far too heavy for a first gen. I don't want to discourage you from doing something mad cool though. If you could pull it off it would be outrageous!! Maybe with a custom floorpan and heavy duty springs it could be done.

Oh! well I can tell you that those are cool. I think putting one in a first gen would be sick. They are  so light you would have trouble putting all the power down unless you fill the back with rocks.

I've read a bit on the kz-te, it's got quite a bit of punch in a small glass. How well did it perform compared to say a 22rte or a 3rz 4runner?
I'm happy with the 3rz in the dd 1st gen, but really would rather it be a clacking diesel that gets better fuel economy.

Today I tackled the task of removing the injection pump. So I started by making a puller. I have read that this thing can be a real PITA to remove. The TOYOTA SST uses two 6mmX1.0 bolts to go into the drive gear but I have seen others who made their own pullers and used 4 with much better success, so I used 4 10.9 grade 6mm bolts. And a fine thread 3/4" bolt in the center to push the pump shaft out.

It certainly took more pressure than I would have guessed for a mere half inch diameter tapered keyway shaft. But I got it to pop loose.

I tried to remove the crankshaft bolt with my impact but it is torqued to 265 ft.lbs. and is just turning the crank. So I made a couple tools to keep the crankshaft from turning. One for when the flywheel is off, and one for when the flywheel is on.
