Today after work I pulled the radiator fan out. And unbolted the fan from the viscous clutch. These things are notorious for running dry.


Once I split the two halves I saw that mine had hardly any oil in it. I was suspicious of this and had purchased some RC differential silicon oil in 10,000 Wtg.


Now when I am driving I can hear the fan whir up to speed along with the engine. I drove it on the freeway today in heavy stop and go traffic with no problems. These cooling improvements are doing some good.
In case you're wondering Toyota originally installed 7,500 Wtg. 50 ML is all it needs.
