Have you tried posting on their forum?

That's interesting though, Dave'z was one regarded pretty highly....

Buddy ordered a bumper from daves offroad. Never mentioned it was out of stock.. a month goes by. No bumper. .. friend made first call. Typical sorry only a few more weeks yada yada. .. friends was cool.. another month went by... no bumper... friend made 2nd phone call... Dave's offroad said sorry gonna be a while longer... friend asked for a refund politely.. Dave's offroad rep literally starting to become very snappy and really just a richard. Was VERY hesitant to even refund my buddy. I will never give them a dime..

Sounds like ordering parts might not be ideal, anyone have experience with their shop? Quality of work?

I've bought parts from Davez with no problems. Also got quick email responses to questions I had. About a year ago though.

I ordered a rear bumper a year ago from Davez... He gave me a timeline of four weeks to build and ship.. Long story short three months later no bumper.. I called numerous times no response.. Finally he responded to an email and said he was sick and short handed and the bumper was ready to ship.. Well two weeks after that no bumper shipped.. Finally called and left three messages and no response so I called my cc company and had them fight the charge... So after a year I decided to give them another shot and I ordered a rear upper shock mount and rear frame support... Two weeks went by and no shipping.. So I emailed again davez said they are ready to ship tomorrow morning.. The next day they weren't shipped.. I emailed another time and davez responded with he was waiting on fedex to come.. Four days later nothing.. Finally I emailed Dave and go a little angry with him, the following day they were both shipped.. I received the package and was not satisfied with the quality in the rear frame support.. The notches that were cut in each end did not even line up.. One was way to small and the other was the correct size.. I had to take the grinder and make it right.. Not to mention they did not even clean up the welds or cuts they made.. I cut myself pretty bad when taking it out of the box.. So after two tries I would not order anything over the phone or on line from him.. If I'm up in the area I would love to visit his shop and see what the deal is

I've heard very similar instances just like the ones in this thread all over the place. On Yotatech, pirate, Facebook, etc. I'll never understand how you can let your business be run in such a manner. Especially in this modern day and age where your customers have so many mediums for telling you what you are doing wrong (which they are telling him he just seems to ignore them).

DaveZ is a joke. My father had to explain him the difference between a short block and a long block. He uses the machine shop my dad works at for all his engines. ( NO THE MACHINE SHOP DOES NOT BUILD THE ENGINES DAVE DOES ) they just do machine work.

Dave tried telling me its impossible for me to get my 93 engine to work in my 89 runner. Hes an idiot that made a business he cant control. He also did a front main seal for a buddy of mine. He gave the truck back with 3 bolts stripped out and leaking like a pig.

I have not and will not company. Thats all I gotta say.

I've ordered twice with no trouble.  Had a driveshaft retubed that took two months (BEAUTIFUL driveshaft though) and some shackles that arrived pretty timely.

Both times I went straight thru him via Pirate4x4 however.

I needed a short throw shifter setup for my W56... Which would have to include a short throw t case shifter since they're on the same plate.
Chef Yota aka mark suggested I get it from MC instead of Dave's if I ever wanted to get it.
I thought I'd give them a chance... I had to explain that the W56 transmission and t case were on the same plate, and that it was a forward shift... Then I called MC...
Mitch had the same setup.. And proceeded to explain what to look out for once I'm ready for dual cases... Haha no question what to do next...
I ordered it from MC, and about a half hour later I had an email with a pic of my parts as well as my mailing info. They sent me the mailing label info while the shifters were being built.

Don't go to Dave's.

Worst online buying experience ever. Ordered front and rear driveshaft from Davez. Was given 2 week build/ship ETA. After a month and a half I started calling and e-mailing. Same story as the others. Loooong story short I received the rear driveshaft that was balanced as well as a drunk man on a unicycle. Finally got refund for front. Heed these warnings. Those of you that received your parts, congratulations. Don't buy anything from Davez unless you live a block away.
