So I'm finally back in it. ! Here are those pics I've been working on.   So it's not my chinook. (I wish) but it's a "blank canvas" . So to speek.  So I drew up a color scheme. I was thinking dura bak smooth (which isn't a 'true' smooth) but it's not your classic prickly texture . Anyway what you guys think?

And here are some long overdue interior pictures. as you will be able to tell, the rear glass to the cab was removed. I actually did this today. trying it out before I fully commit to cutting out the back.

Proud yet embarrassing. ALL the interior was done myself. Including the walls to the insulation in side them. To the cabinets  to even wrapping the cushions. Literally everything...  hence the pride in this whole thing. AND why I haven't given up.

Now the embarrassing  part for the reason that this was my first time for everything.  Never made cabinets, never wrapped cushions. Never ran 12v DC wires. I didn't  know the difference  from a radiator to carburetor !  And you can tell with the interior it was my first time. In my opinion. So hence the "Mach 2 " reference in the title.

If you care, you can always redo the interior latter when you have more time, money and practice. The important thing is that it is functional now. The vinyl paint you are talking about is plasti dip. I wouldn't recommend it for your use. It peels off too easily. Because it peels off some easy, it would make a good product to test out color schemes to see how you like them.

Ya I was wondering for that same reason. >easy peel. If when I hit some tree branches and such. Would it scrap it off?

Plasti Dip is awesome. But not on rock crawlers. You snag a stick or anything on the paint and it peals off! And you cant touch it up at all. You best cheap way is medium grade spray paint and a nice clear coat. Ive used WalMart $1 can spray paint with 3 coats and 2200 wet sand and it came out great. I took it to my local cheap paint guy and had him clear coat it for $350 and he was surprised with the results also! I do not know about longevity though because this was 5 years ago and the car still has same paint without any issues!

Well I went to the auto clinic today, said $190 for replacing pinion seal. She's leaking. And I don't know how to get that crush nut sleeve off. Any tricks I should know about, before I before I go drop 2 bones to the shop?

It takes a big breaker bar and a new nut. You just have to force it off. I don't know of any way to un-stake it.

With a hammer hit a small chisel between the nut and sleeve to bend it back and then remove the nut.
Time to go wheelin!

What do you mean "un-stake" it? And what about torqueing it back on? Is there any kind of sensitivity, or anything that could make or break the way my ring and pinion interact? Or is this "procedure" out of harms way so to speek?
