Topic: 27th Annual TLCA Rubithon event 2015

For those not familiar with Rubithon, it is the annual hosted event by the Toyota Land Cruiser Association (TLCA). To attend, you must be a current member of TLCA and all memberships are verified. You do not have to drive a Land Cruiser, but it is best to be driving a Toyota vehicle. Yes, we do have a few odd ball members that drive other vehicles, but you would need to bring your own parts and have a very thick skin

This year's event will be held June 23rd - 28th. We have already reserved the Springs, the Slabs and Dirty Dozen and I have all the runs lined up with experienced trail leaders.

You can find the official Rubithon website here: www.rubithon.com It is all updated and you can find the registration form online. It is easiest to download the registration, fill it out (all items in red are required) and hit submit on the bottom right hand corner.

Alvaro Rodriguez has committed to hosting the 3rd annual "Rock Chef." Imagine the TV show "Iron Chef America" but it is all done camping style. Last year, we even had the eventual winner making homemade ice cream in the Springs.

Back by popular demand, the Toys on the Rocks will be hosting a benefit wine tasting to support the Rubicon Trail Foundation.

I'd like to thank the Tahoe Hi-Lo's for again volunteering to work on Cadillac Hill to ensure everyone gets out safely and as quickly as possible.

Running a little late getting this out, but want to congratulate the January and February winners of an extra grand prize ticket.

January goes to Andy Hagin again this year, pays to get your stuff in early.  That’s 2 years in a row!

Yes, you do have to be a TLCA member to attend.  There are 2 options.  A PDF only version for $25 or if you would like the Toyota Trails magazine in print version for $45.  You can select either right on the registration.  You would just type new for your TLCA number for now.

Please remember your registrations must be received, not postmarked, before June 1st to get T-shirts this year. We will not be doing a post event order like in years past.

Also, Late fees begin for any post marked after May 22nd!

Seems to work well from Google Chrome and IE.   Has had some issues with Macs.

You can fill everything out and save the file with your name and email it to me or fax it as well.  All the contact info is on the bottom of the page.

Worse case, print it, fill it out and mail it

While I can’t change when I have to have my shirt order in, after a lot of thought, I’ve decided to do an after event order of clothing after all.  So for continue on with orders for shirts and hoodies.

Be advised, you will not receive the clothing until after the event.  There may be some delay as we will be put back in production order.  Postage for these will be covered by the $25 late fee now in effect.

Orders for food will be taken until June 11th.

Rubithon is 27 days away!!!!   You only have until Sunday to get your registrations submitted to have your T-shirts at the event.  After that there is a $25 late fee, and we will have to mail the shirts to you after the event.  You can still get meals until June 11th.

You must either submit it online, e-mail or fax it at this point if you are trying to beat the cut off date to have your shirts at the event….. MAIL WILL NOT MAKE IT ON TIME!

Tomorrow, Sunday May 31st, is the last day to submit your registrations to have your shirts at the event.  You must e-mail, fax or best yet, submit online (make sure you get a confirmation, if not sure, call or text me 530-401-0800.)

After this date, you can still order everything,   but the clothing will be mailed out after the event.

To avoid misunderstanding, you can still sign up for Rubithon!  Unfortunately there is a $25 late fee and your shirt will be mailed after the event.  The last day to be able to ensure you have meals is June 11th. 

However, you can sign up for the event all the way until Monday June 22nd.

Rubithon is just 13 days away!!!

I'd like to thank Janice Watkins, Craig, Carol and Stephanie Lemon, Kent and Brian Kaiser, Ted Schmidt, Bob Brown and my son Dillon for helping me to make up the oil spill kits and goody bags for Rubithon. 

Your help, and company, was greatly appreciated!  THANK YOU!

The shirts should be in on Friday and we will be able to finish up!

I received a phone call from Caltrans and wanted to pass along their information.  They are finally in the process of repaving Ice House Road, and for those that have joined us before, you know it is long overdue. 

They are going to try to start later in the day on Thursday with the number of vehicles that we are expecting, but no promises. 

What this means for you….. BE PATIENT.  Expect up to 30 minute delays while they have 1 lane traffic controls with a pilot car.  Please take this into consideration so you can plan to get to the trail head or Ice House Resort a little earlier.  Heck it will give you more time to get to know the people you will be wheeling with.

Also, I have posted up before, but make sure you have your camp fire permits.  They are required for propane stoves as well.
