99 non abs axle into 2000+ abs housing?
« on: Jun 16, 2014, 10:03:57 PM »
I've searched and not found any definite answer or work around.

I was still trying to decide on which mechanical locker I wanted in my 99 2.7 and came across a good deal on craigslist for an elocker.

But the elocker rear has damaged backing plates no brake stuff and the parking brake cam broken and missing.

So I figured I could just use my axles/brakes and just slide them in... but now I'm in a dilemma.

Will my non abs axles work with that inner seal? Is the bearing going to be at proper depth and diameter?

DO I just bite the bullet and have the axles swapped in the backing plates /bearing caps and so forth?

Or do I just need to have a machine shop lathe me out something like this?

Thanks
