Trixxie The 81 Trekker
« on: Jul 08, 2013, 03:16:50 PM »
Well its been a long time coming.. finally got my hands on another trekker after 10 years of wanting another one... first truck i owned was an 81 toy trekker.. and 25 vehicles later.. i brought it on last week.. thanks to MC forum... the plans are to restore it and start driving it. I own a fabrication shop in the bay area..so the plans are to keep it clean and tasteful but trail worthy...

Ill get some more pics later tonight... but its a start.. will be looling for 4.70 t case.. springs... 35s.. header.. carb... and other dodads.. if u have anything to help out the build.. let me know!

blahhhhhhhhhhh

Can't wait to see the build! I would love to find a trekker bed and canopy to add to my 83.

Cool..another Trekker build.  Finding another rear hatch is going to be a challenge.

How does the floor on this thing look.  Due to the awesome job Winnebago did sealing them, it seems the floors were the first victims to rust..
also check your rear 'roll bar' they are like a toilet paper roll...

if you mean Corey of Toyota Fiberglass...it might be a long while...

what sort of terrain do you wheel?  personally I would go with dual cases, a single 4.7 case would be kind of limiting IMO.  It is nice to have normal low range in between obstacles.

bet you had fun getting the top off.  They used screws, rivots, some insanely adhesive butyl tape.  Are you going to make yours removeable?
I am still trying to come up with a good reusable seal.
Nice shop BTW...
