Help finding a R150F tranny
« on: Jun 26, 2013, 05:07:27 PM »
Hello Every one,another newbie

Am trying to find a R150F transmission whit the forward Tcase shifter,as far as I'll know they came in 4Runner & trucks from '88sh to '95.whit the 3.0L 6cyl engine.it sounds easy but to my surprice its alot more work that I can handle, (i'll order one. an it was a single shifter)

after lots of call's to the salvage yards I'll came out whit. nothing but insults, rude sales person's,etc,it seems thet the only one's around are the single shifter, serch ebay as well.only to find couple whit the single shifter.
Am wondering if its a specific year or model  this transmissions came whit.what is the I shud be looking went I call the salvage yards.
or if any one has a rear housing whit the double shifter let me know.I'll got some food stamps (cash) tu trade for it.
thanks in advance, Cheers

I have that tranny and when Marlin R&R'ed it for me I remember him saying they were used behind the Turbo (22RET?) motors. Mine sits behind a 3.0 and needed a particular bell housing that I found separately. :twocents:

I thought r151 was the turbo trans?

If looking for one behind a v-6 I have one sitting along the garage I'm not going to use. T-case attached that I have no use for.

The R150 was not used behind the 22ret turbo trucks. That was the R151.

notcrawlingyet, where are you located? Im up around Chico and last week when I was at PicknPull, there were a few 3.0 4runners. If you were close enough, we could possibly arrange me pulling one for you. Ive never looked to see if they had forward shift cases or not, but if memory serves me right, all 88-95 3.0 4x4 trucks/4runners should have a forward shift t-case.

And also, just a suggestion, you may want to use complete sentences when you post. This isn't Pirate, so you wont get flamed, but some might have a hard time understanding your questions.

Anyway welcome to  :turtle:

Man I'm just brain dead lately. Yes of course my comments apply to the R151F not the R150. sheesh.....
