everything about this rifle screams "Rock Island Arsenal 1903" except the wood stock  :dunno: did some moron change it before I got it  # 410XXX  :maddest: someone help me identify this baby and give me a value please BlackDog dont hate the owner hate the seller  :rofl2: something tells me Im gonna need to find an original stock  :disturbed:

That is a 1903 Springfield with a modified military stock. Or what we call around here a Bubbafied stock. You can get a replacement for it easy if ya wanna.

Yep just wait a bit and I will come cruising thru. !903's if the barrel isn't shot out are great shooters. Even if it is shotout you can have it rebarrled and it with be good as new.

Mumrich gun parts usually has parts for them, As dose3 cheaper than dirt or Sportsmans guide sometimes.

got ammo just need some time to test her out, i love the OLD guns they have a look that can never be reproduced, ya know, I just like the old wood stocks, such a story they could tell

Hey Yeller....That thing will prolly shoot better with 180 or even 200 grain bullets, Most of those have long throats which make for a big jump to the rifling with lighter bullets. That can really hurt your accuracy. They may shoot finr but I have had better luck with heavy bullets.

Also now that you can reload buy some 180 or 200 grain cast lead bullets. Look up some reduced load for it. At 100 yards they shoot great and are a lot cheaper and easier on your shoulder.  I shoot cast lead out of all of my mil surp rifles.
