Author Topic: starting a toyota 4x4 club in Western Washington (Read 14336 times)

I've been trying to find a club for a while now and currently the only clubs are either too far away or too close-knit for new members. Between Seattle and Cle-Elum on I-90 there are hundreds of trails and free campsites (if you know where they are) and loads of people driving toyota-specific off-road trucks.

I propose a new club based in this area welcoming all Toyota drivers with trail buddies, technical help, free labor in exchange for help when you are needed, and a great place to wheel in Western Washington. If anyone is interested let me know. If I get a few responses I might make t-shirts and decals and stuff. Get us organized so other drivers can see what's up and get interested

Any thoughts let me know

I am with you. I have been looking for a club locally that welcomes all 4x4 toyota's. I would be excited to join. Let's get a few more people involved and get together.

sounds rad dude. the only people I've found that want to do any type of group driving don't have the time to or sold their truck, and the rest of them aren't interested. winter is coming so snow driving will be fun

I am in Issaquah, but I drive anywhere from Snoqualmie pass, Clea Elum, duvall, Monroe, reiter (if it was still open) to wherever. But my favorite is the area between Issaquah and Snoqualmie Pass. There is lots of stuff to do if you know where it is

I'm in west Seattle. There is obviously no wheeling in the city. So I plan on doing some traveling to get where we are going also.

I'm finishing making my truck driveable again, then SAS and some real tires ( some fools stole my 35x12.50 km2s and put some baldass passenger tires on. At least they didn't leave me on blocks) and I was thinking we could do some kind of meet and see what's up with everyone. I live in Fall City now but it'd be cool to organize as many people in Seattle as we can. People get discouraged because of their surroundings but from west Seattle cross the bridge,hop on 90, and ride it out 38 miles

I would be thrilled to meet at either falls city or Issaquah. I agree that we should meet and see what we have and figure out where to go from there.

hey, Helipilot77-- where did you get a 1KZ-TE engine?! my neighbor who visits family in the phillipines just bought a van there that has that engine and I've been TRYING to buy it off of him and convince him to ship it here on my dime plus interest, but he won't have it and I want that little turbo diesel sooooooo bad

Yeah it's a sweet motor. I got it from foreign engines in lynnwood for $4000.

The axle I got was trash and my engine blew up so I'm stuck with ifs that's falling apart and 40 horsepower haha in the market for a new truck if anyone has a junker.
I agree! Winter is "project time" so lets make a time and place we can have lunch or something. Equivelant. Everyone like beer? That works too

How abooooout you all lobby for a place you want to hang out and we will talk about a halfway point

Maybe we should just get together and have a work day. My truck is driving but I am always working on it. I have a very small garage and a driveway. Do either of you have better facilities?

I have a 2 car garage, but only have enough room for 1 rig. I need to R&R my power steering pump and find out what's broken in the front end (I'm thinking it's the locker???)

Mine "runs" I just have no power and my brake mysteriously lock at random. Thinking new calipers and lines should do it? But I want to SAS. Issue is, its my DD since I scrapped my camry. So all the "big projects" have been reduced. Also I need to replace the tires that were stole.. bald, ballooning, plugged and patched 235s don't go very far.

I know we could get his truck running in no time. Those meeting times sound good to me. If you are seriously looking for a replacement my brother is selling his 83'. Already has the factory solid axle. Has a fresh built 22-R and remanufactured 5 speed. V6 rear end 4" lift and 33" Baja claws. It needs a new drivers side fender and a front diff. Perfect opertunity to install a locker. He used to daily drive it but has a Camry now. It is down in Northern Oregon. He is only asking $2000.

laryngitis got to me at the last half of yesterday and this morning. my voice is completely gone and I'm more stuffed up than an Ikea pillow

I know 5 hours notice wasn't really appropriate but neither is how inconvenient this is for my throat haha I'm going to have to reschedule :/ as stereotypically flaky of a PNW'r as that is... you wouldn't be able to hear me talking anyway.
