Jeep-Toy hybrid help
« on: Jul 29, 2012, 07:40:22 PM »
My first post, Want to say hi to everyone, and say thanks for the help I've already got from the forum before my first post

I have 3 cherokees, 2 ax5 4.0's and the other is a AW4 4.0.  I have in my parts bin, Toy V6 rear and trussed Front axle setup for 4 link and a stock t-case.  I'm wanting mate the T-case to the auto ideally but I have the AX5's too.  I know that they were made by asain and share a lot of similar parts.  I've been snooping around here quite a bit and have been reading how people swap Modified Topload trans to the jeep bell housing

I'm really wanting to use the 4.0 AW4 combo with a Toy case (broke my 242 already on 33's), I really haven't seem where anyone has done it.  Maybe I'm blind, or more likely not asking the search the right questions.  Any help would be great, I've been collecting parts for a while to make my hybrid, and am trying to tie up the loose ends, and prevent major headaches.

Advanced adapters makes a adapter for a nv3550 to toy case. That adapter can be used behind the aw4. Only mods needed to the aw4 is cutting the tailshaft shorter or use a spacer ring from novak for a dana300. I ended up just cutting the shaft shorter  which saves a little money....
