1st gen toyota pickup dash help

im planning on doing a efi swap into my 81
does anyone know how hard it is to put the 85-88 dash in my 81, i dont mind choppin off the ends
trying to use the the gauge cluster from the donor so its easier on the swap and reff

or if not has anyone done a 85-88 cluster in the 81 cluster opening

i have a friend with a 2nd gen dash in a first gen, and went to gather pretty easy

i'm assuming that he didnt use the stock metal housing, so did he have to make brackets to hold the dash on?

i can cut the metal carcass to fit the 2nd gen cluster but trying to cover it and make it look nice mite not work out so good

any pics of the dash you speak of?
